Mr. Pressey

June 2-7th In Science we were building simple machines. There was an axels and wheels kit, a leavers and pulleys kit and a gears and leavers kit. These were all K'nex kits and we worked in small groups. We could build so many cool things using instructions like wells, scissors, chainsaws (not the dangerous kind), see-saws, sailboats, drills and egg beaters and way more. Yesterday some of the students started doing their presentations for the class. We had some amazing presentations about Mexico, India, the U.K., Russia, South Korea and Japan. We used our index cards to help us remember our speeches and there were some amazing slides. People really remembered to use expressive voices and eye-contact. Mr. Pressey was giving us feedback about our stars and wishes. By the way. We are having our Celebration of Learning night on Monday, June 17th from 5 - 6 PM. We really hope to see you all there. June 3rd- 7th We had lots of fun this week in Gym. We continued using measurement and doing are class olympics. We did our soccer kicks and measured them using meters. On Wednesday we had our teachers come in from Sports Hub and they did some relay races with us. Thursday we had really enjoyed learning how to play belly baseball. Our favourite part was flying onto the big mats. Our big project this week was continuing to work on our country slides. We are going to start doing our class presentations next week and we needed to get ready. We are doing a 3-5 minute presentation so we had to finish our slides, make our speech notes and then practice our speeches. If our speeches were not long enough we had to add in some more information. We are really enjoying reading The Name of the Book is Secret. We did some more visualizing. The story is starting to get more interesting. The author is making it exciting by adding lots of cliff hangers The best part of the week was when David B
