February 4th - 8th

This week in Social Studies we began to research celebrations that we have in Canada. The first thing that we did was we brainstormed some questions. We asked, what day is the celebration held on? and what traditions do we have for the celebration? This time we used videos like Are We There Yet to help us with some of our research. We learned about some celebrations like Stampede, Canada Day and Halloween.

For Math we began practicing our 1-5 mixed times tables because we are ready for a challenge since we have already practiced each times table. Parents can help help us by writing down some questions or asking us and that will help us get better. We can also play games like Prodigy or Free Rice.

One of our favourite things to do this week is we finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This is a story about a little boy who is very poor but he wins a golden ticket to visit a special factory run by a famous chocolate make name Willy Wonka.

Shi Ha! That is the sound we make when we do a question mark in Kung Fu Punctuation. Some of us got our yellow belts which means they can use capitals and periods. Also some of us got our orange belts and that is because they can use question marks.

Please remember that next Thursday and Friday there is no school because the teachers have Teacher Convention next week. Also there is no school on the following Monday because of Family D
ay.

April 16

Good morning everyone, I just wanted to remind everyone that we are having our first Google Meet tomorrow at 11 am. If you have not been able to log onto Google Classroom please contact me and I will try to help out however I can. To get onto Google Classroom log onto your student email in the same way that you would get onto Google Docs at school. I should have sent you a class invite. Remember this week we are using Raz Kids for Reading and Prodigy for Math and it would be wonderful if you were practicing your multiplication facts. Grade 3's need to know up to 5 x 5 and the grade 4's need to know up to 7 x 7. We will be using these skills next week when we begin using Google Classroom. Have a great day.

March 15th

March 15 Remember parents please book your parent teacher conference. You can do this by going to https://sis.cbe.ab.ca/public/home.html This week we continued to develop our engineering skills. We were designing our blue prints for our final bridge building activity. We were thinking about how shapes and materials will make our structures stronger. It was also important to think about how we could design using tension and compression. We have been exploring subtraction with regrouping again since it has been a long time and we were having some trouble remembering how to do it. We set a goal of getting 16 out of 32 subtraction regrouping questions correct and we achieved our goal :) Grade 3 Home Practice Grade 4 Home Practice
