April 23 -26

This week we continued to work on our country research. We were taking sketch notes using pictures and words. We were researching animals in our countries, resources and landmarks. Mr. Pressey gave us books to research with and we also used the internet.

We also finished off our bridges this week. We did our final tests with our bridges and one of the groups held up 37 blocks. The other thing we did to finish off our bridges was we did our final bridge reflections and Doceri video about everything that we learned.

Ms. Nguyen helped us create some bridge art. We made silhouettes of bridges in a sunset. We used water colour paints which we mixed to get our sunsets. We used sharpie pens to make the silhouettes of our bridges.

One of our favourite things we did this week was we started learning how to play the ukulele in Music. We learned how to play Lime in the Coconut.  To learn how to play we had to learn the chord C7. It was tricky to learn strumming patterns.

Sport Hub came by and began teaching us about volleyball. They taught us how to bump the ball and how to shuffle and how to volley.

Finally we would like to say farewell for now friend to Ms. Nguyen. We REALLY hope to see her again very soon. 😿

April 16

Good morning everyone, I just wanted to remind everyone that we are having our first Google Meet tomorrow at 11 am. If you have not been able to log onto Google Classroom please contact me and I will try to help out however I can. To get onto Google Classroom log onto your student email in the same way that you would get onto Google Docs at school. I should have sent you a class invite. Remember this week we are using Raz Kids for Reading and Prodigy for Math and it would be wonderful if you were practicing your multiplication facts. Grade 3's need to know up to 5 x 5 and the grade 4's need to know up to 7 x 7. We will be using these skills next week when we begin using Google Classroom. Have a great day.

April 14 - 17th Math

Hello, This week for Math we will be using Prodigy  prodigygame . Prodigy is a Maths game where students answer math questions in order to cast spells and collect points. I have assigned questions related to Math concepts that we have covered in class. Once those questions have been answered the program chooses appropriate additional questions based on the students ability level. It is important not to give too much support when students are answering the questions otherwise the program will continue to give out even more challenging questions.  How to help If you notice that they are having trouble with a questions, let them answer but then show them on a piece of paper either what the question is asking or how you might solve the problem. Also near the top of the question there is a prompt button that will give a clue and some math tools such as pens and 100 charts that can also support them. To prepare for next week please practice Multiplication facts with your c
