We practiced our facts by using think boards, playing array conquer and multiplication fill-in. Mr. Traynor also began teaching us about asking data collection questions that are clear and specific, collecting information using tallies and displaying the information on a pictograph. In Science, we started researching about wolves using our note taking skills. We are working in small groups and using information websites to locate information about wolves. This week we focused as a whole class about wolf habitats and some of the challenges and adaptations of wolves. In gymnastic we are learning about gymnastics. January 26-30

January 26-30 Just a reminder to all of the parents that Monday will be the last day to submit Scholastic Reading orders. In Math we explored several areas. We looked at reading graphs. We explored some problem solving that involved unknowns and used our understanding of these to create our own problems. We also learned more about what equal means. We continued to develop our mental subtraction strategies and developed our spatial vocabulary and visualization skills during our Quickdraw activity. During our Science activity we continued to explore the animal classes. Some students have completed their investigations and are now developing slide show presentations explaining their learnings. Please remember that Friday is our It's a Crime Not to Read pizza party at the Saddletown Library. Here are some of the mammal drawings that students have done, including some of the research facts that they have discovered about mammals.
